Not every young man was lucky enough to get the top-of-the-line Zep but the Comet offered many of the same features for six dollars less. While that may not sound like much of a difference keep in mind the U.S. was at the tailend of the Great Depression and six dollars is the equivalent of about $105 today.
The ’38 models were built on the popular ‘fastback’ frame and featured a tank with horn, Delta headlight, rack, and dropstand. The only color offered was Indian red with white trimming. This bike was pulled from a basement in Vincennes, IN in early 2018 and with a good cleaning, service, and tires/tubes is fully road worthy. Formerly owned by Shawn Sweeney
