While doing some research for a restoration I’m about to begin I ran across something that I’ve not seen mentioned before. Not to say others may not have recognized this but it appears to me there are five shades of green used on prewar Schwinns. The lightest shade is what is referred to as ‘lime’ green. The only original bike I have seen with this color is a C model. The bike is badged as a Lincoln (Chicago Cycle Supply Company).

The next shade is commonly called ‘Apple Green’. I believe this color is likely also a ChiCyCo color as well. Shown is the only B10E I’ve ever seen in this color.

The next shade which I have seen called apple green I call ‘bright green’ and I generally see this on the later prewar bikes. Not a common color though.

The last two shades are commonly seen together and these are the common dark green and light green. This color combo was also used postwar as well.

I’d be interested in hearing others thoughts on these observations. Enjoy the ride!
