This site\/blog is intended to provide a comprehensive collection of all things that relate to the hobby of vintage American bicycles. Whether you are a collector, restoring a bike, or researching a new treasure then this site is for you!\u00a0<\/p>

This site is designed to help the novice as well as the seasoned collector. If you are new and are trying to figure out what a “drop out” is then check the glossary. Not only does my glossary provide a definition but many of the terms include pictures as well. The gallery section contains pictures of bicycles as well as past events. You can click on the pictures and they will enlarge (if on a tablet or PC). Website “Search<\/strong>“–click on “Blog” from the menu and you will see the search feature.<\/p>

This site also has serial number lists, company histories, how to date a hub, in depth articles, and a list of books with a short description of the contents. Lastly I will try to write a worthy blog at least once a month. If you have an idea to make the site better just drop me a line and I’ll see what I can do. Both the memory Lane Classic and Royal Oak Fall swaps are in the books. The reports I received from both were positive. The Memory Lane Fall swap is about half of what the spring show is but despite a little rainfall overall the weather remained decent. The good news is that people were buying. I’m not sure if this is a bellwether but I do know all vendor spaces were sold for the Royal Oak Swap on Sunday. The Copake show is fast approaching and I see that as the real measure of where the hobby is right now. For the past few years this auction hasn’t had a lot of balloon tire bicycles but hopefully that changes this year. It will be interesting to see how the ordinaries (high wheelers) and safeties do as that segment of the hobby seems to be aging out.\u00a0 The Butler, PA show is scheduled for January and is an indoor show-thank goodness! Lastly, the Spring Monroe, MI Show\/Swap is already scheduled for the last Sunday in April and I suspect we should see an announcement for the Spring Memory Lane Classic show pretty soon. Some of us will keep riding through the winter months but for those of you that can’t its a great time to organize and get after some projects you acquired this year-or five years ago!
